SMD Splicing Shims are easy to use, you will need our Heavy Duty Tape Splicer Tool TS-41097.
Place splice tape with shim on the two center alignment pins on your Tape Splicer tool with the teeth on the splice shim pointing up. Ensure the Tape Splice Tool is in the open position. Place both sides of the carrier tapes on the alignment pins of the Tape Splice Tool and turn the hold downs to secure the carrier tape to the tool and crimp the Splicer tool.

Let’s not overcomplicate this—splicing shims exist for one reason: to keep your line running without missing a beat. They’re small. Precise. Overlooked until the moment your tape run breaks mid-job and suddenly you’re bleeding time, money, and patience. That’s when these little lifesavers shine.
These aren’t flimsy slivers of metal or sketchy adhesive patches. Our shims are cut with exacting tolerances, designed to bridge two ends of carrier tape without shifting, bulking up, or jamming the feeder. Flat as a whisper, strong as hell. You line them up, snap them down, and you’re back in motion. Just like that.
Whether you’re in high-speed SMT assembly or low-volume prototyping, tape breaks happen. Reel changes are inevitable. But downtime? That’s optional—if your splice game is solid. And ours is.
Made from high-grade stainless steel or durable ESD-safe polymers, depending on the application, these shims are built to survive real shop conditions—dust, heat, clumsy hands, you name it. The bonding strength is engineered for movement. No peel-ups. No slipping. No surprises.
We’ve got them in multiple formats: single-lane, dual-lane, offset, center hole. Whatever your splice process demands, we’ve got a shim that fits like it was custom made for your workflow.
Bottom line? When your machine is hungry and the clock is ticking, you don’t have time to wrestle tape. You splice. You snap. You keep going. That’s what splicing shims are for. That’s why ours exist.
Ultra-Low Profile Design
These shims are flat. Not kinda flat—perfectly flat. They slide through feeders like they’re invisible. No bumps, no jams, no hesitation.
Precision-Cut Tolerances
Every shim is machined to exact dimensions. That means perfect alignment, every time. No guesswork. No second tries. You line it up, lock it in, and move on.
Built for Speed
Whether you’re running at a crawl or cranking full throttle on a high-speed SMT line, these shims stay put. No slipping, shifting, or stalling mid-feed.
Strong Bond, Clean Release
The adhesive we use is no joke. It sticks fast, holds tight—but doesn’t leave gunk when you need to disassemble. Smart, clean, no residue. Exactly how it should be.
Stainless Steel or ESD-Safe Options
Different lines have different needs. Choose from high-strength stainless steel for extra durability, or ESD-safe polymer for static-sensitive environments. Either way, we’ve got your back.
Works With All Major Tape Sizes
From 8mm up to 56mm and beyond—we’ve got the width you need. Standard pocket pitches? Covered. Oddball tape shapes? We can handle those too.
Tool-Free Splicing
Forget clunky alignment jigs or hard-to-use applicators. These are designed for fast, tool-free splicing that even new operators can handle without wrecking a roll.
Compact, Stackable, Ready to Deploy
Comes in organized, easy-access packs that sit right on your bench. No mess, no wasted time hunting. When a reel runs out, you’re already halfway to the fix.
Zero Downtime Insurance
You know what happens when a tape breaks and no one has a shim? Production stops. Morale drops. Numbers tank. Keep these on hand, and none of that happens.
It’s the quiet fix that keeps your production line from falling apart. When a reel ends or tape snaps, a shim connects two carrier tapes without breaking the feed. It’s tiny, but it saves hours. Care? You will—right after your first mid-run crash.
Nope. No tools. Just align the tape ends, drop in the shim, press it down, and you’re good to go. It’s fast. It’s clean. Even the new guy can do it without screwing up your line.
Only if you’re using knockoffs. Ours are ultra-flat, precision-cut, and made for smooth, snag-free passes through any standard feeder. We don’t do bulky, crooked, or half-baked.
No. And that’s a good thing. Once they’ve done their job, they stay in place. You don’t peel and repaste—you splice and forget. That’s the point.
Most standard SMT carrier tapes—8mm, 12mm, 16mm, 24mm, 32mm, 44mm, 56mm. If it feeds through a real machine, we’ve got a shim that fits. Custom widths? We handle those too.
Depends on your needs. We offer stainless steel for rugged use and ESD-safe polymer for static-sensitive setups. Both are built to survive your production floor.
Nope. High-strength bonding, zero mess. The adhesive is engineered to hold under pressure but leaves no sticky residue behind. We tested it. We trust it. So can you.
